Preliminary Questions
Booking a civil partnership notice appointment
This page is to book your appointment to give notice of your intention to form a civil partnership. This is NOT the booking for your civil partnership ceremony. If you are intending to get married, please click here to book your notice appointment.
By continuing and making a booking for a notice appointment you are confirming that you:
- have read the guidance on our website
- both have all the required documentation and can meet the residency requirements
- have made a ceremony booking with the relevant registration office, minister and venue or have decided where the ceremony is to take place
- agree to our terms and conditions
A notice is a legal statement that must be given individually by each of you.
If you arrive for a notice appointment and do not have the required documentation, or do not meet the residency or other requirements, then the notice appointment will not be able to go ahead. A further appointment and fee will need to be paid.
Your ceremony cannot be confirmed until notice has been given and an authority issued after the notices have been displayed publicly for 28 or 70 clear days (depending on immigrations status)
Notices are venue specific and only valid for 12 months.
